The Sustainability Office of the University of the Basque Country has launched a new website that includes all the programmes and actions carried out by the university to meet the Agenda 2030. This website presents the university’s specific contributions to 12 of the 17 SDGs. In addition to these 12 SDGs, the University has included its commitment to language and cultural diversity through SDG 17+1.

The novelty of this initiative is that the university presents an operational and measurable plan of how it will contribute in specific ways to this international initiative. Thus, for each objective, it includes key indicators to track progress. Likewise, it includes the uUniversity's starting point for each goal, which corresponds to the data available for the academic year 2017/18.
The University of the Basque Country is the first Spanish university that has developed a methodology for construction and monitoring of the Agenda 2030 in the field of higher education. The EHUagenda 2030 was approved last April by the Governing Council of the University. It has been aligned with the strategic plan of the university and has a transversal character.
Idoia Fernández, Vice-rector for Innovation, Social Commitment and Cultural Action, points out, that with this project, the university reinforces its "commitment to sustainability and aims to become a catalyst for a profound change in our attitudes and actions, a change that must be felt inside and outside our classrooms and our campuses".
