Charles University launches project to link theory and practice

1904 Sustainable Local Development Prague

Charles University Environment Centre held the launch meeting of the project "Sustainable Local Development – Linking Theory and Practice" on 28 March, in cooperation with the National Network of Local Action Groups for local development and the University of South Bohemia.

The project will map local development conditions to identify how to best support transformation processes in practice, then develop nine full-day training courses aiming to:

  • increase a sense of belonging and confidence in local identity;
  • strengthen capacity to draw on local resources for sustainable living;
  • share information in rural areas concerning new societal trends and opportunities;
  • obtain feedback on local needs to contribute to local and national strategies.

Further project results include the creation of a Sustainable Regional Development Portal to encourage local identification with the SDGs and the development of certified guidance for increasing the capacity of local actors for sustainable development.
