The new publication “Recommendations for Innovating Teacher Education for Sustainable Development: An International Perspective” provides a comprehensive, yet adaptable framework for reimagining teacher education through five critical dimensions. It is the result of a the JSPS Core-to-Core Programme, involving Leuphana University Lüneburg and Okayama University with contributions by the international network of UNESCO Chairs in Higher Education for Sustainable Development.
Leuphana University Lüneburg and the UNESCO Chair in Higher Education for Sustainable Development are delighted to announce the publication of "Recommendations for Innovating Teacher Education for Sustainable Development: An International Perspective" – a collaborative effort led by Okayama University and Professor Fujii’s team, with contributions from the international network of UNESCO Chairs for Education for Sustainable Development.
The publication provides a comprehensive, yet adaptable framework for reimagining teacher education through five critical dimensions: Competency, Curriculum, Pedagogy, Assessment, and Institutional Practice.
This publication is the culmination of the JSPS Core-to-Core Programme coordinated by Okayama University to strengthen global research collaboration. The project brought together five core institutions – Okayama University (Japan), University of Inland Norway, Leuphana University Lüneburg (Germany), University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), and York University (Canada) – alongside educators, policymakers, and researchers from around the world.
