Calls for sustainable development are becoming ever louder. But we still have a long way to go to achieve the 2030 Agenda. This year, in an international summer school, the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) of the University of Bern, Switzerland, is offering students a chance to deepen their knowledge of sustainable development and to acquire the competencies needed to act as change agents. Students will learn about issues such as consumption, food production, public goods, and inequality, as well as sharpen their skills to work for human well-being and social and ecological justice.

The summer school will take place from 17-28 August 2020; Bachelor and Master students of all disciplines are welcome. Participation is limited to 35 students. Early bird registration (by 18 April 2020) is 500 CHF, regular registration (by 15 May 2020) is 550 CHF. The registration fee includes course participation, field trips, two “apéro riche”, supervision and materials. Accommodation in a student residence in Bern is available for 580 CHF.
